Our Family in Kauai, Hawaiian Islands. 2010

Dan and I thought that if we were going to take the family to Hawaii that it would have to be soon, because Cody is soon to be too busy and serious with life to take a big family vacation.
Soooo..... here we are.

Ready for take off, This is most of our kids first flight, it was so exciting for them to go on an airplane! And to Hawaii to boot!

At the Luau. Sophia got on the stage with a random people from the audience and danced the ukelau. She was so cute.

On our bike ride we stopped at a beach and found some fruit just washed up to shore. I picked it up and started to peal this pummelo I think... it is like a large grapefruit. There was also some lemons and jalepenos. It was probably just someones lost groceries, but it was fun to imagine that we were on an episode of "Lost", starving and in comes the fruit from nowhere. (You have to be a Lost fan to understand that one).

The skies were a bit dark but there were spots of sunshine too. It did stay warm the whole trip, but the rain was there most of the time, especially at night.

A sunny day in Kauai. The girls have always wanted to do a horseback ride to the beach. They had so much fun on this tour.

We rented some bikes, Just the teens and Mom. There is a 3 mile paved path that nestles up close the the shore line. It was a very refreshing and beautiful ride.

Grandma and Grandpa from Washington were invited to go with us. We are on the grounds of the Luau, you can barely see in this picture the sand pit and smoke from the pork they just pulled out of the ground.

These guys were the official luau pig ceremony men.

Cody got surf lessons from a real beach dude. The waves don't look that big here, but just around the corner from this bay they were 12 feet high or more!!
